What is Otaku Worlds Japanese Duolingo Challenge?

In an effort to help spread Japanese culture along with helping motivate people to stick with and complete their Japanese learning Otaku World will be hosting the Duolingo Challenge.

​

How does it work?

​

Any person who would like to participate will need follow these steps:

 

1. Sign up for the challenge at the top of this page.

 

2. Make a Duolingo account with "OW" at the beginning. For example"OW_Luffy". (You can change your current username inside of the Duolingo app)

​

3. Join our Otaku World classroom by going to www.duolingo.com/classroom/vkdbjf or by clicking the "Enter Classroom Here" button at the top of the page.

​

4. Add everyone taking part in the challenge. All participants will be added to a directory on our website (Near the top of this page)

​

5. Learn as much as possible!

​

Does it have to be Japanese?

​

To qualify to receive the rewards and join the classroom you will need to be learning Japanese. However, if you just want to be apart of the challenge for the motivational benefits; then it can be any language! 

​

Rewards!

 

At the end of every month the top earner of EXP in the OW Challenge Classroom will get a 10% Gift Voucher for the Otaku World Online Store! 

​

Winner will be announced via social media and contacted through the information you provided in the sign up sheet at the top of this page. 

​

*Reward cannot be given to a staff member, in the event a staff member is top, the reward will be passed down

​

*A participant cannot earn the reward twice in a row. This is to stop people already proficient in Japanese claiming the reward every month.
